Poetry, I love you, I hate you, I love you, I hate you.
Brunch (2023)
I have a friend who
always texts me in Haikus
well almost always
Sometimes she just needs to tell me the brunch plans

Now (2023)
I never saw the future
or touched a star
Some do
but not me
I broke
and lost the room
where we just watched
The Office
marjorie called me back
I missed the star
I saw the present

Rhymes with Women (2019)
Thank you to the women who make my days shine bright.
Thank you to the women who comfort me at night.
Thank you to the women who have taught me all I know.
Thank you to the women who still challenge me to grow.
Thank you to the women who are breaking down the walls.
Thank you to the women who grabbed back at the cat calls.
Thank you to the women who have showed me loving grace.
Thank you to the women who will win their bitter race.
I just need to say thank you to each scar and crease and crack.
I just need to say thank you to the women at my back.
I just need to say thank you to each her and she and they.
I just need to say thank you queens for lighting up my way.
I need to take the lessons from the women who precede me.
I need to understand how one felled-woman made me be me.
I need to let my truth and courage transcend beyond my fear.
I need to let the strength come from the women I hold near.
I need to recognize the simple truth, I'm not alone.
I need to thank the women who have lifted up my throne.
I need to thank the women who have let me push them higher.
I need to thank the women who stoke revolution's fire.
I need to clutch these women close as I age gratefully.
I need to look to them for every choice of who I'll be.
I need to see beyond them to the littles now ascending.
I need to wish their journeys yield more triumph and less mending.
Thank you to the women who create through their despair.
Thank you to the women who speak for those in their care.
Thank you to the women who seek justice for us all.
Thank you to the women helping women stand up tall.
